As the world’s population and income grow, the demand for food and energy increases at the same rate. Production of both food and energy must keep its pace yet in a sustainable, long term basis (Please, see our statement on food vs. energy production). Mercosur -the common market of the South-, our homeland, is the world’s largest soybean producer, and it is expected to concentrate half of the world’s increased agricultural production soon. It has one of the world’s most fertile grasslands with an outstanding faming and cattle breeding potential. Moreover, it is a fast growing producer of biofuel –considered one of the cleanest energies- on corn, soy bean and sugar cane, three typical crops of our region.
